Marvel Rivals PC Settings: Readable Team Fights and Steady FPS
Marvel Rivals fights get messy fast. These PC settings keep ultimates and effects from tanking your frame rate or hiding the enemy team.

Marvel Rivals is at its best in the big moments: six heroes each side, ultimates going off, the map literally breaking around you. It's also exactly when the frame rate tends to fall apart. NetEase built it on Unreal Engine 5, and a few of the engine's prettiest features are also its most expensive. Get those under control and team fights become both smoother and easier to read.
Display
- Display mode: Fullscreen.
- Resolution: Native.
- V-Sync: Off.
- Frame rate limit: Your refresh rate, or slightly under it with G-Sync/FreeSync.
- Low latency mode / Reflex: On if your GPU supports it.
Upscaling and frame generation
Upscaling helps a lot here. DLSS on NVIDIA cards, or the game's other options (such as TSR or FSR) on AMD and older cards, set to Quality or Balanced. Frame generation makes the counter look impressive, but it adds latency and can make aiming feel slightly disconnected, so we'd leave it off in a competitive hero shooter unless your base FPS is already solid.
The expensive settings
- Global illumination: Set it to the cheapest option (a screen-space or low-quality mode). This is one of the biggest performance costs in the game.
- Reflections: Screen-space reflections or lower.
- Shadows: Medium or Low. Medium still gives useful depth cues.
- Effects: Low. Ultimates and abilities fill the screen; lower effects keep the enemy visible and FPS steadier.
- Post-processing: Low.
- Foliage: Low.
Settings you can keep higher
- Textures: Medium or High depending on VRAM.
- Model detail: Medium. Characters stay clear without much cost.
Windows tweaks that can help
- Game Mode: On.
- Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling: Try it on; some systems benefit.
- Resizable BAR: If your motherboard and GPU support it, enabling it in the BIOS can help in some games. Check your motherboard manual before changing BIOS settings.
- Keep your GPU driver updated.
If you still get stutter
After updates, the first few matches may hitch while shaders compile. Let the game sit on the main menu for a minute after patches. If the stutter continues, lower textures one level to check you're not running out of VRAM, and close background apps.
Recap
Use upscaling, drop global illumination and reflections to their cheapest modes, lower effects, and turn on low latency mode. Team fights will look a little less flashy, but you'll see more and aim better. For more Unreal Engine 5 games, check our THE FINALS guide, or see everything on the PentaSharp blog.
